Eve

Eve

by Anna Carey

The year is 2032, sixteen years after a deadly virus—and the vaccine intended to protect against it—wiped out most of the earth’s population. The night before eighteen-year-old Eve’s graduation from her all-girls school she discovers what really happens to new graduates, and the horrifying fate that awaits her.

Fleeing the only home she’s ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust...and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her life.

I have read a few post-apocalyptic fiction books lately and they are starting to grow on me. This one really blew me away. Anna filled it with unexpected twists and turns. She kept the story realistic so that every moment weather it was heart wrenching, terrorizing or bliss filled you could feel as though it were real life not just words printed on a page. Her characters will touch your heart and you will be routing for them the whole way. Anna's writing and mastery of Post-apocalyptic plot sets the bar for all other writers of the genre. Watching Eve and the others learn to trust each other even when their lives are stake will amaze you and their current situation will make you wonder if that might happen someday and make you take another look at human nature and think could humans really be so cruel? This book is an amazing thrill ride and a must read for all. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. The next book Once is a must read on my TBR list!
